As many of you are aware there has been an ongoing campaign to call Lifetime regularly to tell them how much we enjoy Blood Ties and to ask about it’s renewal status. Well this week a couple of long time fans were told by Lifetime that they will NOT be renewing the show.
We haven’t received any official confirmation from Lifetime as of yet but the folks who are sharing this information are well known and hard working members of the Blood Ties fandom.
You can check out the discussion threads at Bloodlines and Kyle’s Korner for more details.
There are many TV networks out there and there’s still a chance that another network will pickup the show. Blood Ties fans are already starting to plan campaigns to help the PTB (Powers That Be) at other networks realize what a great idea it would be to pickup the show.
As soon as we get more details on all these developments we’ll be sure to share them right away.

So does this mean the show is off ? The ones I would like to hear from is the producers writers or even the cast really lifetime is not the greatest we are not depending on their word but the ones actually involved. Are their asking other networks or is their just no point in writing this is their any hope for this series its not the first disappointing ending their are shows just being canceled without warning and always unexplained.

We don’t know yet. We have to stay tuned to see what happens once Lifetime officially announces their intentions. We will of course let everyone know the moment we hear anything from Kaleidoscope Entertainment or any of the Blood Ties producers, etc.

A new network that is willing to invest and promote the series would be wonderful. And they would already have a built in audience share, so this may ultimately be a good thing for Blood Ties.

I just received a callback from the Lifetime office in New York and they told me that the show would NOT be returning to Lifetime.
When I asked about when we might see an official announcement they said we will probably see that later this week or next week.

S.O.B., I am so sorry!
I am a Moonlight fan, just participated in the NYC Central Park Rally this past Saturday. I sheepishly admit I have never really been a vampire genre fan either, but Moonlight changed all that. So I therefore never even knew about other shows on other networks, including Blood Ties on Lifetime. My bad, please forgive me! I also had no idea that there was any collaboration with Moonlight fans about campaigns or drives until I read it just now on your blog.
How sad it makes me that another really popular show, which just happens to also be about vampires, but in a different way (I just watched the last episode streaming) got cancelled!? The state of TV shows these days is pretty shaky, and what is now being offered is crap in my humble opinion. THESE shows had really talented creative teams and casts, and made really great quality entertainment! What will they fill the chasm with now? More crap, obviously. But viewers have been quite vocal in expressing their disappointments and saying they will NOT be tuning into new shows for fears that they too will be cancelled. What a double-whammy for the networks, huh?
I want to share that I strongly feel we need to really join forces and find a network home for BOTH our shows - who wouldn’t want the tremendous amount of fandom we have not only here, but at least what I know of with Moonlight - worldwide?! At last count fans in over 35 countries wrote in and sent donations to our cause! I cannot tell you the vid clips done, and one on youtube from Czech fans moved us all!
What do you say? Let’s rally together in our mutual love and cause to GET OUR SHOWS BACK!?!
Please contact http://www.moonlight-united and http://www.moonlightline as a start.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for hearing me out. Best of luck and I KNOW WE WILL PREVAIL!!! VAMPIRE SOLIDARITY - RAH! RAH! RAH!
