Feedback from Peter Mohan Regarding the Variety.com Ads

June 13, 2008

Blood Ties Executive Producer Peter Mohan sent the Variety.com Ad Committee an email regarding the recent ads. The committee was kind enough to allow us to post it here…

Hi Guys,

Let me start by saying how awesome your efforts have been in trying to keep BT alive. Blood Ties fans are definitely the most loyal I have encountered.

I sincerely hope that your dedication will bear fruit with helping to interest another network in Blood Ties. But even if it doesn’t, it will make sure Vicki, Henry and Mike won’t just fade away.

Thanks for everything,

Peter Mohan

Blood Ties Variety.com Ads To Begin on June 9th

June 7, 2008

Below is a copy of the official message that the hard working folks at the Variety.com Ad Campaign shared on several of the Blood Ties fan email lists and forums earlier this evening…

Greetings To All Blood Ties Fans

This is an official announcement on behalf of the Ad Committee.

We are elated to be able to make this announcement to all “Blood Ties Fans”. We did it! The Ads will officially begin running on Variety.com for five consecutive days, with the launch beginning on June 9 and continuing through June 15.

The ads will be programmed to run intermittently in the following three sections of Variety: to appear on the home page, in the film section and additionally, in the awards section. While we realize that Blood Ties was a television production, we were advised that in order to reach TPTB in the biz…these were the best fit options for maximum exposure. In addition, this week was chosen primarily because it is an ideal week for the daytime Emmy’s. Our consultant considers this an ideal week for the ads to garner maximum attention, exposure and coverage for the business.

Please, remember the ads will be running online, they will not be stationery, they will be programmed to alternate either between one another, pop-up together, or to appear between the three pages together or apart of one another as listed above for viewing, so you may have to watch the screen(s) a bit for the appearance of one or both.

We will place the static page of the ads, as soon as, they are received from Variety for viewing. There will be a link provided to revert all inquiries directly back to: BloodTies.tv. We are also, including the link to the Variety site for your convenience: Variety.com. We additionally, increased the impressions to a reasonable maximum, thanks in part to the generous donations of the fans.

This has been a long and arduous endeavor, but it was also a labor of love. The total amount raised from the campaign for the ads came to: $4,500.00. The Variety ads were purchased at: $3,700.00. The remaining balance of $800.00 will be donated to the “Best Friends of Animals Society”, in honor of: Dylan, Kyle and Christina.

We are excited and sincerely hope, that everyone enjoys the Ads. Lets keep our fingers crossed that the Ads can work a “Bit of Magic” for the actors and the show. All of this could not have been accomplished without ALL THE DEDICATED AND DEVOTED BLOOD TIES FANS…remember “Blood Ties Fans” can still bite back!

Again, to all Blood Ties Fans “Thanks So Very Much for Your Support” of the Variety Ad campaign. We are extremely proud of the ads, we also, think you will enjoy seeing them run next week on Variety.com.

Sincerely,

Katieore, Ad Chairman
Kel, Co-Chairman

and the remaining Ad Committee

Update on the Variety.com Ads

May 21, 2008

The Variety.com Ad Campaign committee recently posted a message on several of the Blood Ties fan forums and email lists with an update about the Variety.com ads.

Below is a copy of that message…

While the support and donations have been greatly appreciated, and have surpassed our expectations; we must ask everyone to please stop any and all donations at this time. We are currently waiting for recent donations to clear in Paypal, AND, we are waiting for Some checks that are in transit {mailed} to arrive and clear.

We cannot do anything else until all the funds have been cleared and secured from Paypal. Once this happens, we will be making updates as to the projected run-date online, along with the total for Paypal. The success of the ad donations may allow us to do more than we anticipated regarding the ad itself.

We hope that everyone understands our dilemma and while we appreciate everything that has been done, we must stop all donations …….this is only slowing us down. The Ad committee is as anxious as everyone else to get this ad running. It has been a long and stressful process. We will be making updates regarding all matters. Please be patient, as we are working diligently for this sole endeavor.

With much gratitude,
THE AD COMMITTEE

Looks Like Blood Ties Won’t Be Coming Back to Lifetime

May 12, 2008

As many of you are aware there has been an ongoing campaign to call Lifetime regularly to tell them how much we enjoy Blood Ties and to ask about it’s renewal status. Well this week a couple of long time fans were told by Lifetime that they will NOT be renewing the show.

We haven’t received any official confirmation from Lifetime as of yet but the folks who are sharing this information are well known and hard working members of the Blood Ties fandom.

You can check out the discussion threads at Bloodlines and Kyle’s Korner for more details.

There are many TV networks out there and there’s still a chance that another network will pickup the show. Blood Ties fans are already starting to plan campaigns to help the PTB (Powers That Be) at other networks realize what a great idea it would be to pickup the show.

As soon as we get more details on all these developments we’ll be sure to share them right away.

Variety.com Ad Campaign Update

It’s great to see the donations still coming in because the goal is $3,500 to be able to fund the ads.

Donations are being accepted through May 15th, 2008.

Contact Your Network This Weekend

April 25, 2008

While you go about your weekend activities over the next couple of days why not take five minutes to send a message to the TV network that aired Blood Ties in your country? It doesn’t cost a thing and it’s easy to do! :)

Leave online feedback at the Lifetime website (US viewers)

Leave online feedback at the CityTV website (Canadian viewers)

Send an email to Virgin 1 (UK viewers) at this email address
As of April ‘08 this network was airing Blood Ties.

Send an email to Living TV (UK viewers) at this email address
This network aired Blood Ties previously.

When you send feedback via email or an online web form it’s possible for the network receiving that feedback to tell what country you’re sending it from so please be sure to send it to the appropriate network for your country first and foremost. Any additional ones you send may be helpful but we can’t be sure how helpful.

If you have contact information for another network in a different country please feel free to share it below in a comment so everyone can benefit.

Lifetime Responds To My Phone Message

April 23, 2008

Like many other Blood Ties fans I took part in the Lifetime Monday Phone Calls campaign this week. I called on Tuesday and left a voicemail message.

I just received a call back. The rep was very nice to talk with and she said the same kinds of things that other fans have mentioned before.

She said the show is still in limbo and it’s fate is undecided.

When I asked if there was a time frame for when a decision might be made she said there wasn’t a firm date.

Kudos to Lifetime for responding to my call in a very timely manner.

Variety.com Ad Campaign Update

April 20, 2008

The Variety.com ad campaign that we told you about in this posting is going strong. The organizers have created an ‘Honor Roll” page listing many of the donors so far. You can find that page here.

While we all enjoy participating in the many charity campaigns that Blood Ties fans run we also sometimes need to put funds towards a campaign that will make an impact in places where the entertainment PTB (Powers That Be) hang out to help us get Blood Ties renewed!

Now would be a great time to donate whatever amount you can to help the cause. All the details are listed here.
